Weymouth and Portland choose ISS 'Robust' Vehicle Safety System

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council has chosen ISS Reversing Radar and DVR Hard Disk Recording systems for 4 new Dennis Eagle Narrow Waist refuse vehicles and 2 Scarab Minor street cleansing vehicles. The contract also includes maintenance of 4 existing ISS Reversing Radar systems and 2 existing ISS DVR Hard Disk Recording systems currently on the council fleet.
The council manages its own fleet and was looking for a one-stop-shop for its waste vehicles safety needs. Having looked at what was available in the market place they decided that ISS provides the best combination of quality products and value for money.
Weymouth and Portland choose ISS for one-stop vehicle safety solution
Mick Barnes, Fleet Manager, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, said: We are at the leading edge of best practice in terms of vehicle safety and the specification of technology. ISS is a great supplier because it can source any safety technology for us, install it and maintain it and do so very quickly. The ISS Hard Disk Recording equipment produces superior image quality and the mapping software means we can see exactly where our vehicles are at any time. The reversing radar is also particularly impressive and unlike any other radar, it can detect both moving and static objects.
ISS designs, installs and maintains its own range of vehicle safety and lighting equipment such as reversing radars, CCTV camera systems, Hard Disk Recording, bespoke warning beacons and LED lighting. The company also designs and supplies bespoke safety lighting and signage packages for a wide variety of vehicles and sectors.
