Newcastle City Council has equipped its fleet of refuse collection vehicles with camera systems from Fleetclear to improve driver protection and provide evidence in the event of incidents or insurance claims.

Camera systems across the RCV fleet

Peter Morton, Fleet Manager, Newcastle City Council said:

“Vehicle safety is a top priority for us. The camera systems give our drivers confidence and provide us with the evidence we need if anything happens on the road. We’ve been very happy with the systems and the support from Fleetclear.”

The council has worked with Fleetclear for a number of years and the systems have become part of the standard specification for new vehicles. The footage is used for driver training as well as for resolving incidents and insurance claims.

Stephen Perrin, Sales Manager at Fleetclear said:

“We’re delighted to continue working with Newcastle City Council. Their commitment to fleet safety is clear and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to invest in the latest technology.”
