ISS Augments PAWRS With Visual Recognition Technology - Stand M25

Innovative Safety Systems Ltd ISS, vehicle safety and visibility technology specialists, are demonstrating their market-leading portfolio of products at PAWRS this year with the assistance of augmented reality iPads that recognise images and trigger information specific to each user.

ISS supplies, installs and maintains the full range of safety and lighting products including reversing radars, CCTV camera systems, Hard Disk Recording, warning beacons and LED lighting packages. The company recently moved to larger, purpose built premises in Coventry and has expanded all areas of its operations.

Its latest DVR 4 Hard Disk Recording solution provides 360 degree coverage and incorporates additional features including mapping software and a dashboard with vehicle data such as speed, brakes indicators and G forces. Nigel Harris, Waste and Environmental Protection Manager for Lichfield and Tamworth Shared Waste Service, said: The safety of the public and our crews comes first so radars are a must-have. We had used CCTV and recording equipment before but this new technology is much more user-friendly. The recordings are in true image, not in the traditional mirror view, which can be very confusing and they can be uploaded directly to our computers or laptops. ISS offered us the best package and the best value for money. The kit was installed and completed in one week.

The ISS system was recently recommended to Hills Waste Solutions by Wiltshire Council. Ian McKinnon, Transport Officer, Environment Services Fleet, Wiltshire Council said: We trialled the ISS system a couple of years ago on the kerbside recycling vehicles operated by Hills as part of their waste management contract with the council. Due to efficiency of the products and the longer warranty period we decided to convert to ISS from our previous supplier. Since then we have installed ISS DVR systems and reversing radars to around 30 vehicles. The service from ISS is first class especially as they also maintain equipment installed by a previous supplier so we have one contact for all our vehicle safety needs.
