Hills Follows Wiltshire Council With ISS Hard Disk Recording

The latest Hard Disk Recording technology from Innovative Safety Systems Ltd ISS has been specified by Hills Waste Solutions for its 13-strong fleet of RCVs that carry out commercial waste and recycling collections in and around Wiltshire.
Steve Burns, Divisional Director, Hills Waste Solutions said: We have been using reversing cameras for around 4 years and the number of accidents have reduced significantly. The new DVR systems from ISS are an excellent additional safety tool for drivers and provide a clear record of each vehicle's operational movements which is very useful for staff training and service monitoring. The ISS system was recommended to Hills Waste Solutions by Wiltshire Council.
Hills Waste Solutions follows Wiltshire Council in choosing ISS recording
Ian McKinnon, Transport Officer, Environment Services Fleet, Wiltshire Council said: We trialled the ISS system a couple of years ago on the kerbside recycling vehicles that are operated by Hills as part of their waste management contract with the council. Due to efficiency of the products and the longer warranty period we decided to convert to ISS from our previous supplier. Since then we have installed ISS DVR systems and reversing radars to around 30 vehicles. The service from ISS is first class especially as they also maintain equipment installed by a previous supplier so we have one contact for all our vehicle safety needs.
In 2011 Hills achieved diverting 1 million tonnes of waste away from landfill across Wiltshire and is currently commissioning Wiltshire's first mechanical biological treatment plant MBT. Coventry-based ISS provides a one-stop shop for the design, supply, installation and maintenance of vehicle safety and visibility technology, and is well known for providing market-leading products.
