Fleetclear has been awarded a 3-year (+ 1 year) contract to provide tracking and telematics equipment for Kirklees Council’s fleet, comprising over 800 vehicles.

Fleetclear first started working with the council in 2017 and has since installed camera recording systems, reverse radar, anti-theft + anti-rollaway technology and the Cyclear™ cyclist warning system across multiple vehicles in the fleet.

Darren Fletcher, Fleet Manager, Transport Services, Kirklees Council: “Kirklees Council has an excellent safety record within its own fleet. The technology available within this telematics system, which has been installed on all council vehicles, will further aide our drivers as well as helping to keep our vehicles safe from damage or theft, ensuring our excellent safety record is maintained.

“Additionally we are able to monitor and track our entire fleet on one platform, providing us with immediate access to crucial data about each vehicle and driver. This will help us make sure our fleet is operating safely, legally, and efficiently at all times and enable us to resolve any issues quickly and accurately.”

The council’s entire 800+ fleet of vehicles, including cars and vans, will also be monitored, and tracked using Fleetclear’s fleet management software - Fleetclear Connect.  A powerful web-based software platform which encompasses all aspects of vehicle and driver safety, operational efficiency, and compliance. It is suitable for all vehicle types, easy to use and combines vehicle hardware and safety technology with tachograph information, GPS tracking, telematics including fuel & carbon analysis, driver behaviour, and compliance monitoring.

Kirklees will benefit from system consolidation and will be able to access activation data from their Fleetclear Anti Roll Away systems and reversing data to help them with route risk analysis and proactive safety initiatives.

Mike Crowther, National Key Account Manager, Fleetclear: “We are delighted to continue working with Kirklees Council and to have been awarded this new contract. Their safety record speaks for itself, and we commend their proactive approach to keeping the pubic and crews safe.”
