Eastleigh Borough Council Switches to Game Changing Safety Technology

The council operates 50+ vehicles comprising Refuse Collection Vehicles, Luton vans and tippers, which are now equipped with Fleetclear’s 360° LIVE camera systems, the Cyclear™ cyclist safety warning device and reverse radar.

The council also recently switched to the Fleetclear Connect software platform to consolidate data from all its vehicle safety equipment. Supervisors have access to a web-based, customisable dashboard where they have visibility of every aspect of fleet operations.

Before the switch the council was using two separate systems for tracking and cameras as Tom Broomfield, Street Services Manager, EBC explains: “It was very disjointed before; we couldn’t get the systems to talk to each other, coverage wasn’t great and we had black spots across the borough. We now have 99% coverage.”

Tom and his team can see what’s happening on rounds without physically having to be there.

“Switching to Fleetclear has been a game changer. We know where all our vehicles are at any one time and can review any camera at the touch of a button.”
